Dear friends and colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is an honor for me to welcome all of you to the next IUFRO Conference of Working Group 2.08.03 “Improvement and Culture of Eucalypts” that will be held in Colonia del Sacramento (Uruguay), from 20-24 November 2023. 

This meeting, under the main title “Enhancing the performance and sustainability of eucalypt plantations to broaden their benefits”, will focus on the sustainable use of eucalypt plantations through a better understanding of the genetics of the genus, appropriate…….

where ?

The IUFRO Conference Working Group 2.08.03, will be developed at the Sheraton Hotel in Colonia (By Marriotts). The Sheraton Hotel es located at the west border of the city, in a very peaceful place, surrounded by the river, beaches and open and safe areas. Distance from the Sheraton Hotel and the city town is 5 kilometers (30 to 40 minutes walking), with non public transportation available other than private taxi.

The city

Colonia del Sacramento is a small city in southwestern Uruguay, by the Río de la Plata, facing Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is one of the oldest towns in Uruguay and capital of the Colonia Department. It has a population of around 27,000.

Its historic quarter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
